Japanese lives homicide impulse

In the Pacific War,
A Japanese soldier and an unpleasant Japanese were ordered dying an
honorable death and self-determination.

Why was self-determination commanded to fighting with the enemy?

Japanese soldier who doesn't raise military results, and this were
